Fun Math Trick – Get Your Students Excited About Math

Calendar Magic 9Impress your students with this math multiplication magic trick.  Have a student put a square around 9 numbers on a calendar ( 3 x 3 box).
Instantly, you can tell them the sum of the nine numbers.
Have them add the numbers to verify your answer.

All you do is multiply the number in the center of the square by 9 and presto! You magically have the answer!
Have some calendar pages ready for the students to try this at their desks. Then, they can amaze their family at home.

We have had Dennis Regling out to our school for a “Math Night” performance two years in a row. Mr Regling was very entertaining and informative. Every time he asked for a volunteer, every child’s hand was in the air and adults and kids alike were asking questions after the show. We have really enjoyed having Mr Regling out to our Elementary school and we are looking forward to his next show, as we will be having him back again. We would highly recommend Dennis Regling for a school performance.” Kathy Downing, PTO President, HG Blake Elementary School, Medina, Ohio
