Pine Bush kids enjoy ‘Road to Success’
PINE BUSH — Edward J. Russell Elementary School students were entertained with stories, skits, and magic while learning about the importance of the Six Pillars of Character during an assembly Sept. 28.
The “Road to Success” assembly was hosted by Dennis Regling, an author and educator who combines entertainment and information in a way designed to keep kids laughing while they learn.
The fun-filled program taught EJR students about respect, responsibility, caring, trust, friendship, and citizenship. They also learned to set personal standards and goals and how to take the necessary steps to achieve them. A special emphasis was placed on reducing bullying and building teamwork in school.
“The students really enjoyed the assembly,” said EJR Assistant Principal Elizabeth Halsey Sproul. “The combination of skits, student participation, and magic tricks kept them entertained while highlighting the importance of good values.”
