The Easiest Way To Book A School Show Assembly

Bringing quality, educational shows to your school can be an overwhelming task for the new PTA or PTO assembly coordinator. There are many, many choices available.

Along with finding the right show, there are numerous other obstacles that companies and presenters seem to delight in putting between you and actually bringing a show to your school.

Some of the obstructions you will face are:
1) Presenters who do not know how to engage your students. Some of the most popular presenters are authors. Unfortunately, writing is a solitary task, and many authors just are not good at public speaking.
2) Unprofessional presenters. Unfortunately, many birthday party magicians have entered the school show business. They are not teachers and their shows are just a bunch of cheesy magic tricks with tag lines like “Don’t Do Drugs,” etc. They will show up in T-Shirts and jeans or even short pants. They will do underwear jokes and embarrass their volunteers.
3) Shows with little or no educational value. See above. Many presenters are not educators. They do not research their subject and do not know how to present information that is easily understood.
4) Large companies with a roster of presenters. This can be a major problem. These companies are NOT education oriented, they are geared to booking many shows. Their salesmen are trained to sell you shows, not necessarily bring a show that will meet your needs and educational objectives. Additionally, some companies write their own shows and bring in birthday party clowns and failed actors as presenters. In other words, their salesmen are not educators and their presenters are not educators.
5) Time consuming and confusing paperwork. Many companies and individual presenters require a deposit, sometimes up to 50% of the fee. This means getting two checks written – more work for your treasurer. If you are using grant money, often that money will not be available until after the presentation. They have contracts that are filled with small print and make excessive demands for the performance area.
They add travel fees using complex formulas that require you to be a master of map reading. They add hotel fees, mileage charges and often double or triple the original fee.
6) Demands for sound systems, special stage requirements, help unloading and loading and setting up elaborate sets. Many presenters require you to provide students or janitorial staff to help with their set up. Taking students out of the classroom or staff away from their job duties. Many need a sound person or special sound set ups. They may have elaborate sets that take hours to set up.

At Dennis Regling Wonder Shows, we have taken great pains to eliminate everyone of these obstacles.
1) Dennis Regling has 15 years experience speaking and teaching students. He is a former school teacher. He knows how to engage your students. The shows incorporate amazing science demonstrations, music, puppets, magic tricks, clean and goofy humor – yet everything has educational value. Your students laugh and learn.
2) Dennis is professional in every way. He always dresses professionally. Whether wearing a coat and tie, or a lab coat or other appropriate costuming, Dennis always looks and acts like a professional. All volunteers are treated with respect and all humor is squeaky clean. He shows up on time and works within the schedule the school establishes for performances.
3) All our shows are curriculum based. The shows from Dennis Regling Wonder Shows have been written and perfected by teachers, and educational professionals to ensure they will compliment the lessons students are learning in class. Dr. Regling spent three years researching and writing his show “Don’t Play The Bully Game.” But many magicians have written their bully shows in a weekend and presented them the following week.
4) Dennis has made the scheduling process simple. No deposits are necessary. There are NO TRAVEL FEES. The fees are plainly stated on the webpage and there are no surprises. A simple one page agreement states the date, time and shows – no fine print. Just a simple form to present misunderstandings.
5) Self-contained shows. Dennis brings his own sound system. His set ups are visually engaging with out being elaborate. Schools never need to provide anything moire than a table and electricity. The shows set up and tear down quickly.
6) Dennis Regling Wonder Shows offers a wide variety of shows. Science, math, Character education, Literacy and Writing, and bully-prevention shows are available. All the shows are audience tested, curriculum based and full of surprises.
