{"id":287,"date":"2014-06-15T10:03:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-15T10:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicscientist.com\/2014\/06\/sometimes-a-scientist-needs-to-break-a-few-eggs"},"modified":"2014-06-15T10:03:00","modified_gmt":"2014-06-15T10:03:00","slug":"sometimes-a-scientist-needs-to-break-a-few-eggs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/puppetbuildingworld.com\/magicscientist\/?p=287","title":{"rendered":"Sometimes a Scientist Needs To Break A Few Eggs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This experiment is not only really cool but may also turn out to be pretty useful, next time you&#8217;re cooking dinner.<br \/>This&nbsp;is one of the most straight forward experiments ever but you&#8217;ll be able to get the kids thinking about science next time you&#8217;re cooking dinner!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do I need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>2 eggs (maybe more, it&#8217;s       addictive)<\/li>\n<li>A plate or bowl to catch       the mess<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How do I do it?<\/strong><br \/><strong>STEP1<\/strong> &#8211; Whenever  you need to break an egg you grab whatever is nearest to hand, often that&#8217;s  another egg! This experiment is all about breaking an egg, using another egg,  don&#8217;t worry it&#8217;ll work better <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" alt=\"\" class=\"float-right\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.sublimescience.com\/free-experiments\/cracking-eggs-experiment_clip_image004.jpg?resize=295%2C222\" height=\"222\" hspace=\"12\" width=\"295\" \/>than you think!<br \/><strong>STEP2<\/strong> &#8211; It&#8217;s straight forward, you&#8217;ve just got to believe it&#8217;s  going to work! Simply hold an egg in each hand and bang them together to break  an egg. (It&#8217;s best to do this over a plate or bowl, so you don&#8217;t get egg  everywhere)<br \/><strong>STEP3<\/strong> &#8211; Perfect,  you&#8217;ve broken your egg! Not egg<strong><u>s<\/u><\/strong>,  only one of the eggs will ever break when you bang them together! <br \/><strong><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" alt=\"\" class=\"float-right\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.sublimescience.com\/free-experiments\/cracking-eggs-experiment_clip_image006.jpg?resize=302%2C226\" height=\"226\" hspace=\"12\" width=\"302\" \/>What&#8217;s going on?<\/strong><br \/>How come only one of  the eggs break? It seems like they&#8217;ll both smash into pieces but they don&#8217;t!  It&#8217;s all to do with the fact that eggs are really brittle, so at the point  where one of them breaks, that breaking dissipates the force and saves the other  egg!<\/p>\n<p><strong>More Fun Please &#8211;  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.magicscientist.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Experiment like a real scientist<\/a>!<\/strong> <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Seriously, will both eggs       ever break?
